September 4, 2012 was a wonderful day in Rapid City; it was the United Way Day of Caring. More than twelve hundred people volunteered to give back to the
community. Eight hundred projects were scheduled for those in need. Projects included yard work, minor repairs, housekeeping, landscaping, and painting.
Your Moyle Petroleum team had the task of painting an entire house and garage in less than four hours.
We could not have asked for a better day. The temperature was moderate with a light breeze and the sun was shining. Our team, and a team from Bank West
Insurance; worked tirelessly to complete the project. We certainly are not professional painters but I could not have been prouder of the finished
project. The disabled person who owned the house was very grateful for our efforts and we had a wonderful sense of accomplishment when we finished.
The MPC team of paint daubers included; Bobbie Nelson, Lori Iverson, Sandy Henwood, Jen Peterson, Melissa Voorhees, Dereck Budahl, Darcy Paluch, and
It truly is a privilege to be part of this special day. We gather for lunch prior to the project and hear the upcoming year pledge goals as well as view
the annual United Way Giving Video. It is somewhat overwhelming to see the entire group of volunteers dressed in matching t-shirts. Twelve hundred
people gathered together for a singular goal is impressive.
However; this was a small sampling compared to the number of people who give back to their community through their generous donations. So my heartfelt
thanks go to all of you who donate to United Way annually. You are making a difference and changing lives.
Special thanks from the Day of Caring team to Gil and Clark for allowing us the time off from work to be a part of this annual tradition. This is just
one more example of how Moyle Petroleum gives back. Gil and Clark are actually the biggest givers of all. Did you know that Moyle Petroleum Company
matches dollar for dollar each employee contribution annually? Thank you all for your generosity and thank you Gil and Clark. It feels wonderful to
be part of this MPC family.
